Cardiothoracic Surgery

From the time honored open heart surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting to innovative laser revascularization and minimally invasive procedures, our cardiothoracic surgery program offers state of the art surgical interventions to both adults and children.

Children requiring cardiac surgical intervention are seen by our pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons at Primary Children's Hospital.

In cooperation with Huntsman Cancer Institute, we have developed a Thoracic Oncology Program.  This program establishes a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to treating patients with tumors of the lung, esophagus, mediastinum and chest wall. This collaborative approach allows for optimal management of each patient, especially when a combination of surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy is indicated.
